Adventures in Blacksburg and Restaurant Week dinner

Alex and I drove down to Blacksburg to visit Charlie and Ellie and to go to a DJ dance party. We had a really great time! Gilles breakfast was essential as well although that isn't pictured.

Restaurant week dinner at Brasserie Montiel with Chen. So delicious!

Weekend

I had work on Saturday morning so when I came back I went right to work making dinner. I made spinach and artichoke dip with chips for the appetizer, black eyed pea masala with rice and broccoli as the main dish and pumpkin chocolate chip blondies for dessert. Everything was vegan! We also drank a bottle of wine that I bought on Friday from Market Street Wine Shop. It was great!

RPM

I went to my first LesMills RPM class this morning at 6 am! This is the second class I have tried at Gold's since joining over a year ago. One of my new year's resolutions was to take one class at Gold's per week and so far so good. Now that I know I like both Body Pump and RPM, I am going to try to attend one of those classes each week. I need to try yoga as well--I'm nervous about that!

Monday reading

Starting the week off well...already halfway done with my birthday present from Desiré.

Hopefully I won't have nightmares from seeing Black Swan earlier today!

Too many breaks

I've taken too many breaks from this blog and I want to try to upload at least one photo to represent each day of 2011. I don't know how long this will last, but I'll give it a try. Now that I have a Droid phone it might be a little easier.

Friday included Shenandoah Joe's and free wine tasting at Market Street Wine Shop with Desire.

A make-shift 12-pack purchased from Shady Grady on Saturday night. This is a 24-pack cut in two and held together with tape.

Vegetable and lentil stew and pumpkin brownies (both vegan) for dinner Sunday night.
